They Love Presets
The video art performance group I Love Presets consists of Rob Ray, Jon Satrom, and Jason Soliday. They recently performed at the Chicago Underground Film Festival back on Nov. 1 and the above embedded video is an excerpt from it.
It’s a fun video that starts with a blocky video display with a low droning soundtrack, shifts to a tense attempt at loading some kind of program, then ends with a real bang: Computer solitaire set to music that’s reminiscent of the eardrum pounding assault of Atari Teenage Riot, a band I miss.
If you dig this, the boys have a whole YouTube channel devoted to different performances and an official website with some really freaky looking HTML artwork. My personal favorite? The page devoted to Lobster Magic. (Update: I Love Presets website now defunct.)
