May 18: Berlin-based analog artist Deborah S. Phillips will be in attendance of this screening of three of her 16mm film performances: Capsicum, Chin-Chin and the premiere of her latest piece, T’chelet.

Nov. 16: Philadelphia-based experimental filmmaker Peter Rose will be in attendance at this retrospective of his work from 1970 to 2013. Plus, he will screen some 3D works in progress.

May 19: Curator Jesse Malmed has assembled a wonderful lineup of recent experimental videos that explore the entire concept of flickering images as a means of visual association and communication.

Sept. 15: Microscope Gallery will be inaugurating its third year with a gallery show of Joel Schlemowitz’s 16mm camera paintings and a special film-related performance by the artist.

May 7: Microscope Gallery will screen James Fotopoulos’ modern underground film classic Migrating Forms in its original 16mm b&w glory.

On Feb. 11, 2012, the Microscope Gallery in Brooklyn, New York screened long lost films by iconic and hugely influential underground filmmaker Jack Smith was screened.
