Rooftop Films: Letters From The Other Side

I was going to do a full posting of all of July’s screenings for Rooftop Films (they have several every weekend), but I don’t have enough time to do that justice and to let you know about this very weekend’s lineup. So, here’s just this weekend’s screenings and I’ll get back and do the rest of the month (and give myself enough lead time):

Friday, July 7th, 8:30 p.m.:
Shorts collection: “The Rural Route Film Festival” featuring 19 shorts about life out in the country. Preceded by live music by Fat Worm of Error. Screening held on the lawn of Automotive High School at 50 Bedford Ave. b/w 12th and Lorimer in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Saturday, July 8th, 8:30 p.m.:
Feature film: Letters From the Other Side, dir. Heather Courtney. A documentary made via video “letters” sent back and forth over the U.S./Mexico border. Played at the 2006 Broolyn Underground Film Festival. Screening held on the roof of the Old American Can Factory at 232 3rd St. at 3rd Ave. in Gowanus, Brooklyn. (Seating is limited at this screening, so come early.) Opening band TBA.

More info, including directions and ticket buying info, at Rooftop’s official site.
