MicroCineFest: Past & Future

Two news items regarding Baltimore’s underground film festival run by the esteemed Skizz Cyzyk just crossed my desktop:
Past:
On Tuesday, June 27th, Skizz will be showing special selections from MicroCineFests past at Dr. Dremo’s Tap House in Arlington, VA courtesy of the Washington Psychotronic Film Society. The WPFS screens obscure and bizarre film classics every Tuesday at the 4th Best Neighborhood Bar in the Washington, D.C. area, according to readers of the Washington Post. More info at the WPFS and Dr. Dremo websites.
Future:
MicroCineFest has extended its Call for Entries deadline to July 14th. So, you’ve got an extra two weeks to get your films in. The festival will run sometime in early November (specific dates TBA) and winning entrants will be notified in September. More info at the MicroCineFest homepage and on their special entry rules and guidelines page. Plus, if you want to know what kinds of films the fest is looking for, well they tell you right upfront. Even funnier is what they tell you they don’t want and tips for the inexperienced filmmaker, all of which I happen to agree with.
