Look Out! Richard Wolstencroft Is Blogging!

By Mike Everleth ⋅ February 12, 2008

Ever want to peek inside the mind of genuine madman? Now is your chance because Melbourne Underground Film Festival director and a filmmaker of underground movies himself Richard Wolstencroft has added yet another job to his resume: blogger. His new online effort is called Idea Fix and we here at the Underground Film Journal highly recommend checking it out.

We’ve blogrolled it ourselves and while it’s listed under our “Movies” category and Idea Fix may have a lot of film content, Richard actually writes about a wide variety of subjects, from music to political conspiracies to personal adventures. As for movies, he’s reviewed There Will Be Blood (agree mostly with him on that one) and The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford (I wasn’t as big a fan) and named the top 10 Australian films of 2007.

Richard’s one of the few underground festival directors who corresponds with me somewhat regularly and we always love posting what he’s up to. The Underground Film Journal welcomes him to the world of blogging — specifically WordPress blogging — and we’ll poke him with a sharp stick to make sure he keeps at it.

P.S. Don’t forget, but MUFF is currently looking for submissions for their 2008 festival.
