2006 Hi/Lo Film Festival: April 6-9

By Mike Everleth ⋅ April 4, 2006

Two cows made out of cardboard

If you live in the San Francisco area, you’ll want to check out the Hi/Lo Film Festival starting tomorrow night, featuring 40 short films broken up into three different programs. The full listing of shorts is on their site (UPDATE: Now defunct) and if you click each program head, you’ll get pretty detailed descriptions of all the films.

The only video/filmmaker I’m familiar with is a music video done for The Shins. I’m not really into the band, but the video was made by a fan of theirs in the Israeli army. It’s a clever little piece about cardboard cows falling in love.

April 6-8 at the Brava Theater
2789 24th St. – SF
(10 min walk from 24th St. BART)

April 9 – Parkway Theater
1834 Park Blvd (near Lake Meritt)- Oakland

Also, Hi/Lo has made a great little short explaining their philosophy, which you can watch on their site. (UPDATE: Now defunct.)
