Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare Haunts The Pioneer

By Mike Everleth ⋅ October 5, 2006

Monster that looks like a green brain with fangs

Just in time for Halloween, John R. Hand’s debut experimental horror feature, Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare will be screening in NYC at the Pioneer Theater for the week of Oct. 11-17. There will be nightly screenings at 9 p.m. I urge all New Yorkers looking for a creepy movie to get in the mood for Halloween to attend. You can buy tickets early at the Pioneer website. And check out my Underground Film Journal review of the film. Highly recommended.

After that, the film will be a part of two horror movie festivals this month: The Atlanta Horror Fest in Atlanta, GA; and the Spooky Movie Film Festival in Fairfax, VA. Both festivals run Oct.27-29 and Frankensteins will be playing both fests on the 29th. Just click the links above for the festivals’ official sites for more info.

Finally, the film will be available to everyone when it is released on DVD by Unearthed Films in early 2007. I just went to the Unearthed website to check ’em out and they had Frankenhooker on the front page, so Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare will be in good company there. We’ll list more specific release info when we get it.

Again, please check out the Underground Film Journal review.
