The 27th annual Images Festival of Toronto, Canada is currently open for submissions until the middle of the month for their On Screen film and video competition.

The 5th annual Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival is currently open for submissions. The festival will run on April 4-6, 2014 in Hawick, Scottish Borders, Scotland. Submission is free.

The 7th annual Mono No Aware expanded cinema event is open for submissions, but the deadline is in just a few days, October 31.

The 3rd annual Experimental Film Festival Portland is currently open for submissions. It will run in 2014 on May 28 — June 1.

The 16th annual Boston Underground Film Festival is currently open for submissions. Dates for the fest have not been set yet, but it will run in late March 2014.

The 2nd annual Haverhill Experimental Film Festival is currently open for submissions and will be held on May 30 — June 1, 2014 in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

The 21st annual Chicago Underground Film Festival, which will run on Apr. 2-6, 2014, exists to showcase the defiantly independent filmmaker.
