2010 Projections Festival: Official Lineup

Hey, it’s a film festival masquerading as an art gallery show! Or is it an art gallery show masquerading as a film festival? Whatever it is, it’s the Projections Festival of Rare and Hard to See Films curated by Aaron Rose and screening from Jan. 16 to Feb. 20 at the Roberts & Tilton gallery in Los Angeles.

Some of the films screening are short films by popular, indie film directors, such as Spike Jonze, Harmony Korine, Jean-Luc Godard, Miranda July and Roman Coppola. But there are also films by underground filmmakers like Sadie Benning, Matt McCormick, Brian Butler and the king of underground film, Jonas Mekas. And there’s a whole host more, too.

If you look over the schedule, which is posted in its entirety below, you’ll notice that there aren’t a lot of screening times listed. That’s because on each day a film, or a series of films, will be screened on a continuous loop. Watch a film once or watch it a dozen times in a row! It’s all free, so make the most of it.

The one film that has specific screening times is a new short film by Spike Jonze, We Were Once a Fairytale, that stars Kanye West. Where noted below is when that will be screening throughout the course of the festival. Also, on opening night, Jan. 16, there will be selections from the entire program screening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
