2010 Experiments In Cinema: Call For Entries

By Mike Everleth ⋅ October 10, 2009

Experiments in Cinema v.5.1 is gearing up for a run on April 15-19, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and it’s looking for a few awesome avant-garde and experimental short films. There is only one deadline for the festival:

Final Deadline:
Dec. 10, 2009
Entry Fee: $15
($10 per entry / per work if 3 or more are submitted)

Though EiC has been around for a few years, 2009 was the first year it was added to the roster of festivals covered here on the Underground Film Journal. Therefore I’m not that intimately familiar with the fest yet, but they had a pretty awesome lineup at the last edition with films by Penny Lane, Robert Todd, Sylvia Schedelbauer, Marie Losier, plus a Kerry Laitala retrospective of recent work, plus a ton more interesting stuff.

Also, films selected into EiC will be collected into a DVD package that the festival sells to earn money to run the next year’s edition. I’ve looked, but I think the DVD run of EiC v.4.2 has sold out already. But now’s your chance to get onto the next one!

Experiments in Cinema is run by Bryan Konefsky and is a collaboration between Basement Films, and the Department of Cinematic Arts at the University of New Mexico.
