2008 Chicago Underground Film Festival: Call For Entries
As I already mentioned before, the 15th annual Chicago Underground Film Festival is undergoing some changes, i.e. being acquired and managed by IFP/Chicago and having its dates moved back to late autumn: Oct. 29 – Nov. 2. But, the basic nature of the fest shouldn’t change. The festival’s Artistic Director, Bryan Wendorff, hasn’t changed the fest’s mission statement:
Now in our 15th year, The Chicago Underground Film Festival exists to showcase the defiantly independent filmmaker. Our mission is to promote films and videos that dissent in form, technique, or content from the “indie” film/video mainstream and to present adventurous works that challenge and transcend expectations … if you suspect your film is “underground,” it probably is.
This year’s deadlines are:
Early Deadline:
May 15
Entry fee: $30
Regular Deadline:
June 16
Entry fee: $35
Late Deadline:
July 15
Entry fee: $40
And if you’ve screened at CUFF in the past, then your entry fee is waved.
You can submit via Without a Box; or visit the official CUFF site for more info.
