2007 Sydney Underground Film Festival: Call For Entries

The Sydney Underground Film Festival has just been brought to my attention and big thanks to festival director Katherine Berger for contacting me and letting me know that their submission period is now open for business.
This year’s SUFF will be held Sept. 7-10, 2007 and they are currently looking for films in three categories: Short Films, Feature Films and Student Films. (Feature film is described as anything over 30 mins.) Films can be in any genre, length or content and the SUFF mission statement reads:
The Sydney Underground Film Festival is dedicated to nurturing an alternative film culture through the promotion of independent and experimental films. The festival seeks to support filmmakers who operate outside established film industry infrastructures, by providing a platform for exhibition, exposure and critical discussion.
Here’s the deadlines:
Earlybird deadline:
May 4, 2007
Submission fees:
Feature: $35
Short: $25
Students: $20
Regular deadline:
June 29, 2007
Submission fees:
Feature: $40
Short: $30
Students: $25
Also, if you’ve been rejected by another film festival, include a formal rejection letter with your submission and knock 5 bucks off the submission fee.
For more info and submission address, please visit either the SUFF submit page or their Withoutabox page. Prizes and awards will be given out to winning films.
