Michael Mongillo and Todd Dzicek aren’t just the co-directors and co-founders of the New Haven Underground Film Festival, they’re also a pair of filmmakers themselves. With Michael directing and Todd co-producing, they’ve made Welcome to Earth, a slacker sci-fi comedy about a group of people throwing a raucous party during the first summit between humans and “The Visitors.”

The film is screening on Wednesday, June 13 at 8 p.m. at the Anthology Film Archives as part of the New Filmmakers Series held there. When I lived in NYC, I went to New Filmmakers screenings pretty regularly for a few years. Always a lot of fun.

You can find out more about the movie at the Welcome to Earth official site, including watching the trailer. And you can also learn all about the New Filmmakers Series at their official site.
