Embedded above is the trailer for this year’s Austin Underground Film Festival, which will run next Friday Dec. 19. It’s a simple, yet kinda spooky, animation by filmmaker Jay Hollinsworth, who also has his most recent music video — “Quicksand Under Carpet” for the band New Radiant Storm King — screening in the fest. Hollinsworth is a recent Austin transplant, so it’s nice to see him hooking up with the festival. It’s a nice match.

Embedded below is a video from something called The Bazura Project, which is some sort of movie news and review show from Australia. I’m embedding this particular video because it stars Melbourne Underground Film Festival director Richard Wolstencroft doing his best R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket impression. It’s the role Wolstencroft was born to play, especially when he’s in full “Damn the Australian film industry!” mode. I also especially love me a good Danny Deckchair joke, since that title (I’ve never seen the film) used to be a quick joke in my house to mean something that looked like an utter piece of crap. Sorry, Australia!
