Trailer Contest! Melbourne Underground Film Festival
What filmmaker out there has the most perfectly deranged sensibility to create the ultimate underground film festival trailer?
If that’s you, here’s your mission: Produce an outrageous 30 second to 1 minute mini-masterpiece, upload it to YouTube and send the link to “info [at] muff.com.au.” Then, the Melbourne Underground Film Festival will pick their favorite out of the entries they receive. The winning trailer will then be featured on the MUFF website, open MUFF screenings this Oct. 9-19 and be seen by every single MUFF maniac.
Heck, drop us a line here at the Underground Film Journal, too, and we’ll showcase the entries as well. We’ll also, of course, put the winning trailer and the runner up on our site and our new UFG video site since we’re big MUFF fans around here. What the hell, isn’t that enough reason to make a trailer?
The winning trailer will get prizes, too, including free festival passes, some DVDs and some other stuff that they’re cookin’ up. Plus, if you live in Australia, MUFF will fly you in. (If you live out of the country, you’re on your own.)
As for some general guidelines, here’s what MUFF suggests:
What to make? What to do? What’s the brief? You know MUFF… Make it controversial, make it cool, make it sick, make it tough, make it burn across the retinas of our minds and win free stuff doing it. What could be better? Our festival dates are October 9 to 19, 2008 and its MUFF 9, so sell that fiends!
The deadline for entering is Sept. 26.
