Steven Kostanski

Steven Kostanski is a Canadian independent genre filmmaker based in Winnipeg. His films are typically modernized pastiches of low budget movies from the late '80s and early '90s, particularly the type of horror and sci-fi movies that were released direct to video.

Kostanski is also a make-up artist and special effects technician, which he applies to his own films and to films made by other directors. He has worked on make-up and prosthetic effects for movies such as Capote, Wrong Turn 4 and Resident Evil: Retribution.

He is also a member of Winnipeg's Astron-6 filmmaking collective, along with Matthew Kennedy, Conor Sweeney, Adam Brooks and Jeremy Gillespie.
