Dec. 3: NYC’s New Filmmakers is hosting a selection of short films programmed by Another Experiment By Women Film Festival, including films by Whitney Johnston, Olivia Ciummo, Beth Portnoy and more.

Nov. 16: Philadelphia-based experimental filmmaker Peter Rose will be in attendance at this retrospective of his work from 1970 to 2013. Plus, he will screen some 3D works in progress.
Nov. 2: Los Angeles based film artist Madison Brookshire will be in attendance to screen his camera-less productions Color Series, which is one cohesive work made up of six short films, and his work-in-progress Veils.
June 20: As part of Brooklyn’s Northside Festival, catch a mind-altering event featuring Jef Taylor’s short film I Heart Staten Island and the iconic ’60s underground film David Holzman’s Diary.
May 19: Curator Jesse Malmed has assembled a wonderful lineup of recent experimental videos that explore the entire concept of flickering images as a means of visual association and communication.
May 4: Celebrating the latest Millennium Film Journal, there will be a special screening of films by Pat O’Neill, Catherine Elwes, Noe Kidder, Jennifer Proctor and more.
May 1: The Another Experiment by Women Film Festival is hosting this tribute to longtime Film-makers’ Cooperative director MM Serra and includes several short films by women.
Sept. 15: Microscope Gallery will be inaugurating its third year with a gallery show of Joel Schlemowitz’s 16mm camera paintings and a special film-related performance by the artist.
Sept. 2, 15 and 25: Matthew Bonner has curated a program of modern work by George and Mike Kuchar, including Flesh of Fury, Cupid’s Infirmary and more.
May 7: Microscope Gallery will screen James Fotopoulos’ modern underground film classic Migrating Forms in its original 16mm b&w glory.
