Some underground film festivals went dark in 2009, including ones in Miami, San Francisco, the Twin Cities and New Haven; plus Chapel Hill’s Hi Mom! festival.

The Hi Mom! Film Festival is once again jam-packed with great short films, including ones by Bill Plympton, Tony Gault, T. Arthur Cottam and Michael Peterson.

The quirky North Carolina Hi Mom! fest has announced their lineup and features a colossal 71 shorts over three nights and two cities: Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
