The 17th annual San Antonio Film Festival opens tonight, June 16, with a trio of movies screening from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at The Friendly Spot.

First up is Adam Badlotto’s 3-minute experimental film Only in Dreams; followed by Ronnie Cramer’s mini-feature Sixty in 60, which is an hourlong compilation of 1-minute experimental films all made in a variety of styles.

Then, the night will close with a feature film, Daniel Falconer’s Deforce, a documentary that examines the city of Detroit’s fall from grace, from being one of America’s most important cities to one riddled with crime and social problems.

SAFF will continue to screen afternoons and nights until June 26. The full lineup of the fest can be found here.
