Is he real or just the product of your own delusions? The Synthetic Man is the third feature film by underground auteur John R. Hand and looks like it will follow in the same trippy genre-bending footsteps of his previous two films, Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare and Scars of Youth.

Here’s the official description:

A young woman filled with anxiety and paranoia escapes into herself and creates a fantasy world involving ancient aliens who control the human race through the”Synthetic Man,” a figure shrouded in mystery who may hold the key to the woman’s tangled past.

Hand also tells the Underground Film Journal that The Synthetic Man was shot in both HD and VHS; and will hopefully be freaking out moviegoers at the end of the month. It’s been five long years since Scars of Youth was released, so we couldn’t be more hopped up with anticipation.
