A Dangerous Cure is the debut feature film by director Kevin Jarvis and is an experimental horror movie shot on 16mm that examines the economic recession of 2001 in New York City. Jarvis will be in attendance at the screening and participate in a Q&A afterward. A trailer for the film is below.

Here is the official synopsis of A Dangerous Cure:

Savia, a fame obsessed tabloid journalist, tries to find the cause and the cure of a life threatening epidemic that is ravaging New York City during the economic recession of 2001. Her journeys take her to various underworlds where she documents people’s opinion of epidemic death, technology, and how the media uses the whole crisis as a platform for glamour.

The film stars Malinda Walford as Savia and co-stars Sean Pritchard, Alexander Elisa, James Venable, Delton Henderson, Susan Yung and Jeff Bybee.

Jarvis has stated that the film was made over the course of six years and describes it as an homage to ’60s modernist collage movies.
