Marta’s Sex Tape In Amsterdam

If one were to throw an erotic film festival, including Anthony Rivero Stabley‘s Marta’s Sex Tape seems like a no brainer. And that’s exactly what the Rated X: Amsterdam Alternative Erotica Film Festival, which will run Jan. 15-17 in Amsterdam, has done.
I believe this festival is being put on by the same people who put on the amazing H3R3TIC Film Festival last year that also featured a bunch of Underground Film Journal favorites. I also believe this only is the second edition of Rated X with the first one held in 2007. The festival says its goal is “to address and reflect the shifting, moving nature of the erotic in cinema, video and other media.”
Marta’s Sex Tape, which I reviewed earlier this year, is one of the sexiest films I’ve seen in recent memory. The festival is called Rated X, but I’d give Marta’s a R if I were to rate it anything. Still, the film is a brightly colorful, vivacious burst of raw sexual energy. I’m not familiar with most of the other films screening at Rated X, but Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4:00 p.m. ought to be the hottest night of the festival.
There are also a couple other films playing at Rated X of interest to Underground Film Journal readers. One is Susan For Now, Robin Franzi’s insightful, personal expose of the world of BDS&M, which runs Friday, Jan. 16 at 6:00 p.m. Click the title there for the Underground Film Journal review. Plus, although I haven’t seen Angelique Bosio’s documentary on the Cinema of Transgression, Llik Your Idols, nor Jonathan Yudis’ Pervert!, both of those have played extensively on the underground film festival circuit.
