I Am The Eggman

By Mike Everleth ⋅ December 23, 2007

I Am the Eggman by Sam Barnett was one of my favorite films from the 2007 ATA Film & Video Festival. I’m a huge fan of stop-motion animation, so Sam already had me with that. But the short is an overly bleak and grotesque work featuring a pasty, blank character taking pieces of himself to feed an insatiable monster whose blood in turn feeds some sort of baby.

With a great droning industrial soundtrack and a starkly designed set, this is a terrifying, nightmarish glimpse into despair that I’m embedding below. However, Sam also has a whole bunch of other great animations up at his YouTube page that deserve watching as well. But I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
