2009 Revelation Perth International Film Festival: Call For Entries

By Mike Everleth ⋅ November 19, 2008

Australia throws some pretty big darn film festivals and Revelation Perth International is one of the biggest and most diverse. Although next year’s edition, their 12th, won’t run until July 2-12, they’re already looking for entries. They only have one deadline and that is:

Final Deadline:
April 6
$40

This year’s edition of Revelation was the first time I listed the fest on the Underground Film Journal, mainly because it was the first year for new program director, underground film historian and author Jack Sargeant, who produced a really well-rounded festival. So, I’m already really looking forward to what he has in store for his second go-round. I also really like the mission statement listed on their entry form:

The event seeks to showcase the progressive, individual and signature driven work from the international film community across all genres, formats and durations. We love first time filmmakers… we love dead filmmakers… we love experimental filmmakers, in fact we love all filmmakers so don’t be afraid to submit. Rev is organised by filmmakers and film lovers so we welcome the lowest of the low-fi to well resourced features, documentaries, experimental works and animations. Our primary criteria is spirit.

So, check out last year’s lineup to get a feel for what the fest is all about, then visit their official site for the entry form.

And check out the Underground Film Journal’s list of film festivals for more great underground fests to submit to.
