2009 Backseat Film Festival: Award Winners

By Mike Everleth ⋅ March 27, 2009

If one could give an award to an awards lists, then the Backseat Film Festival would win the Most Creative List award. In addition to everyone’s favorites like Best Feature, Best Short, Best Doc, etc., Backseat gives out awards for Best Robots, Best Zombies, Most Disgusting, Weirdest and other unique awards.

It’s a good thing, too, since a couple of Underground Film Journal favorites are included in the awards list. Special congrats go to perennial Underground Film Journal hits that keep on coming: Brian Lonano‘s Attackazoids! for Best Robots and Joshua von Brown‘s Altamont Now for Staff Favorite; as well as Mike Davis‘ hilariously recycled Sex Galaxy. (See the full festival lineup here.)

But everyone below is a winner, so congrats to you all. Also, if you live in Philadelphia and missed Backseat when it ran back on March 6-15, then you can catch some of these award winners at a special Best of the Backseat Film Festival screening event on April 4 at 9:30 p.m. at the International House.
