The Portland Underground Film Festival is gearing up for another year filled with bizarre horror, outrageous genre films, bike porn, short films and all around movie strangeness and fun events. Once again hosted by and held at the historic Clinton Street Theater, PUFF will run this year June 12-15.

The lineup is already available and I’ve posted it below. One brief note: It looks like 2008 is going to be the year of Antero Alli, who is touring the American northwest with his latest film, The Invisible Forest; having his European premiere at the H3R3TIC Film Festival and his film The Mind Is a Liar and a Whore is playing at PUFF. That’s quite a lot going on for this prolific filmmaker.

Here’s the lineup:

June 12
8:00 p.m.: The Double Born, dir. Tony Randel. A woman loses one child, then discovers she can’t have another. So, to fill her void of loneliness, she strikes up an unusual relationship with two handymen working on her house, which leads her on a path of sexual terror. Based on a story by Bram Stoker and starring the awesome Sammi Davis. (Read the review)

June 13
7:00 p.m.: The 13th Alley, dir. Bobb Hopkins. Odd things start happening to a group of college kids after they’re locked in a spooky bowling alley where a gruesome multiple murder happened several years before.

9:00 p.m.:Bike Porn 2.0
A selection of sexy bike short films, followed by the Midnight Mystery Ride, in which participants can dress up like Spartan Warriors escaping Persia.

June 14
5:00 p.m.: Under the Skin, dir. Billy Burke. This documentary follows American tattoo artist Mario Barth as he travels to Japan to delve into a restricted world of outlaw tattooing as practiced by the secretive and guarded Horitoshi Family.

7:00 p.m.: “Shorts Program”
Vampire Hunter Hank, dir. Wes Johnson
Agnieszka, dir. Martin Gauvreau
The Sunlit Blanket, dir. Suzy C. Maier
Scream Club “Toi et Moi”, dir. Ali Cotterill
It Came and Went and It was Nothing, dir. Bob Moricz
Restless, dir. RQ Mattoso
Olympia Diner, dir. Mike Jeknavorian

9:30 p.m.:Bruce James Comedy Hypnosis Show
Not a movie, but I’m listing it anyway. It’s hypnosis and comedy rolled into one fun show.

June 15
7:00 p.m.: Come Hell Or High Water, dir. Todd E. Freeman. Two men on separate missions find out they’re seeking the same answer to who killed both their families.

9:00 p.m.: The Mind Is a Liar and a Whore, dir. Antero Alli. In the near future in Berkeley, CA, a diverse group including an astrologer, a Satanist, an Inuit opera singer and a webcast diva are forced to stay inside during a citywide lockdown.
