2007 Rootop Films: Call For Entries (And More)

By Mike Everleth ⋅ December 8, 2006

Rooftop Films, the NYC outdoor film festival that runs all summer long, is now accepting submissions for their 2007 series. They’re looking for features and shorts, and while not an “underground” film festival per se, they show a lot of good, quirky stuff. You can check out the Underground Film Journal archives to see what they ran in 2006.

Earlybird Deadline:
Jan. 5 (fee $8)

Regular Deadline:
Feb. 16 (fee $12)

Late Deadline:
March 2 (fee $15)

Without A Box Extended Deadline:
March 16 (fee $15)
(Without A Box members only)

And in addition to just accepting films from individual filmmakers, Rooftop works with other festivals and film curators to do special combined programs. Submissions are accepted on DVD and VHS. They have a long rules and eligibility page, so go check it out.

Besides film submissions, Rooftop is also looking for donations and will send you some nifty gifts for your support. Fifty bucks gets you 4 free tickets, while $100 gets you the tickets plus a DVD. More will get you some extra swag.

Finally, if you want to intern with Rooftop, please visit this page. They need 2 interns for next spring.
